The year is 1993
We were asked to join Fear Factory on the “Suffer Bastard Tour”, with my old band Deviate. The flyer/poster hereunder is from one of the shows on that run. A few days before this show, on May 29th to be precise, Fear Factory played Dynamo Open Air for the first time. I had been to Dynamo Open Air once before, in 1990, but that wasn’t anything compared to being backstage. We ourselves didn’t end up playing DOA until 1997. Anyway, this tour resulted in years of amazing friendship.
I’ll do another small writeup about the classic 1995 edition of Dynamo Open Air soon. If you’re not aware of that DOA, Google it (you won’t regret it).
